New Years Message

Dear Friends and Family,

First, let me wish you a very Happy New Year filled with health, wealth and happiness.

We hope that we’ll all spend time with our loved ones and can still meet, or exceed the professional expectations defined by others, or ourselves, as it is important to strike a balance in life, professionally, or when engaging in general conversations.

In 2020 we will make an effort to actively listen and to look for feedback and input at all times. In our team, we will ask everyone to reflect on other viewpoints even more and to build dialogues.

Over the last year we have learned a lot, especially that:

  • Beer is the single best liquid asset in existence
  • Sustainable business ventures are definitely the model of the future and can be very, very profitable
  • Churches make great community places
  • Every brewery that we are talking to loves the idea of centralised and blockchain-based crowdfunding
  • Our positivity creates great karma, which provides us with amazing projects
  • Funding for any project still requires a sound business model - crypto, or not
  • It is easier to have conversations about raising 10 Million Euros than 10,000 Euros…

When we started a little over a year ago, we focused our fundraising purely on the crypto space. We’ve since discovered our project is very attractive to more traditional investors as well. This is due to the clear value of the craft brewing industry and the success of many crowdfunded breweries. With this in mind, we have extended our model to allow for traditional investors and now have a number who have substantial funds committed already towards our mission, bringing crypto and traditional investors together.

One of the things that stood out was that thanks to many wonderful people, we accomplished amazing brand awareness about our flagship token, the Craft Beer Coin (CBC). We even won the 'Best In Show' award in Las Vegas in 2019!

Today, we have over 10,000 users with many returning active customers, as they like the simplicity of the app and the cool fact that this is the first of its kind - probably world-wide!

We are honoured to have wonderful partners, who are loyal and faithful in our medium and long-term success. Changing the food and beverage industry to become more independent and distributed is not an easy, simple, or quick task, but we're getting there.

Our objectives for 2020 are:

  • To build and (co-) finance at least 12 different projects
  • To crowdfund/raise sufficient funding to scale at the same speed that we have the opportunity to invest
  • To ensure that all our future investments are as profitable as the existing ones
  • To release a new app with many more features and an improved user interface
  • To have projects all over the world including America, Continental Europe, Asia and Africa
  • To make our coins the de-facto standard for all food & beverage transactions
  • To establish our own order-book and to improve our customers access to secondary markets
  • To continue to rigorously manage our cost-base and to become cash-flow positive

These objectives are manageable, but we will continue to invite constructive criticism by being fundamentally different to most other FinTech companies and inviting everyone every Friday at 4 pm to our open house, or ‘Meet the Founders’ as we like to call it. Check out the event section of our website, our Telegram channel, or our other Social Media platforms for more details.

I would like to give a special shout-out to the people who were outstanding in supporting us throughout the past year:

  • The team at German Kraft for providing seed-funding, shelter and the occasional refreshment ;-)
  • Our advisory board members for going above and beyond in supporting us with ideas and networking with us
  • The external- marketing geniuses that helped us with their brilliant skills, namely James Bowater, Katie Holmes, Carl Gunaratnam and Ali Datoo
  • Our spouses that continually forgave us for working crazy hours
  • Most importantly all our partners and customers that gave us feedback and forgave us for our little shortcomings

We are excited to see what 2020 will bring for us. We are looking forward to meeting everyone throughout the year and we can't wait to continue to help the craft food and beverage industry flourish.

Kind regards,

Florian
